How to get to Pratunam from Bangkok Airport
You have two choices for getting from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Pratunam:
- Train – cheaper and faster way;
- Taxi or Private transfer – more comfortable way.
Train from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pratunam
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is connected to the city by airport train, also known as Airport Rail Link. Taking Airport Rail Link is the cheapest, easiest and in most cases fastest way to get from the airport to Pratunam.

When going from the airport to Pratunam, you need to get off at Ratchaprarop station which is penultimate station on Airport Rail Link line. A train ticket from Suvarnabhumi to Ratchaprarop station (Pratunam) costs 40 THB per person.

The trip can take about 25 minutes, so take a seat if only you can find one. Don’t stress, if the train gets full, as normally most of the people get out at the stations before Ratchaprarop and you can get out from the train with all your luggage at Ratchaprarop easily.

Depending on where in Pratunam you are staying, you can walk (most of the popular places are just up to 10 minutes from the Airport Rail Link station) or take a motorbike (plenty of them are waiting at the exits of the station).

Taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pratunam
Taking a Taxi is a more comfortable way for getting from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pratunam if you don’t mind paying more and traveling longer. The distance between the airport and Pratunam is about 30 km and it can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 1 hour or even more, if the traffic conditions are really bad.
The taxi fare from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pratunam should be around 250 baht not including the airport surcharge and road tolls. The fare can get significantly higher if the traffic will be jammed. Bangkok taxi drivers don’t have the best reputation and they might refuse to turn the meter on and try to set a higher fare. Don’t agree on that!
If using public transportation seems to be too complicated for you and you are not willing to wait in a long queue for getting a taxi at the airport, book a private transfer online and the driver will be waiting for you at the airport holding a sign with your name on it. It's definitely the most comfortable way to reach Pratunam and not to get lost in Bangkok on the first day of your trip.
