Talad Neon Night Market is one of the newest additions to Bangkok’s night market scene. Opened in Pratunam district, which is a very popular location to stay for Bangkok visitors, Talad Neon Night Market is mostly targeting tourists and not the local crowd.

Talad Neon Night Market – Bangkok Downtown Night Market

Talad Neon Night Market has all the main attributes you would expect to find at night market in Thailand – plenty of street food, clothes and other goods on sale, as well as a number of places to grab a drink and just chill out. However, Talad Neon really lacks authenticity and local feel that can be found in other Bangkok’s night markets such as Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin, JJ Green or even Talad Rot Fai Ratchada.

As most of the best night markets in Bangkok are open only on weekend nights, visiting Talad Neon Night Market might be a good alternative for getting an idea about Bangkok’s night markets, if weekend in Thai capital is not included in your trip plan. This night market is especially convenient to visit if you’re staying somewhere around Pratunam.

Things to Buy

The goods sold at Talad Neon Night Market are mostly the same that can be found at Pratunam Market, Platinum Fashion Mall or nearby Palladium Night Market.

Plenty of various clothes such as dresses, Thai silk scarfs, various t-shirts and others are sold at Talad Neon Night Market.

Like in every night market, there will definitely be a good choice of bags.

The goods might not be different than elsewhere but the setup of some shops at Talad Neon Night Market is much more attractive.

Other Activities

At the back end of Talad Neon Night Market you will find a number of bars and restaurants where you can chill out in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Otherwise, you can get yourself a new haircut in one of the market’s barber shops.

Getting your haircut done at the night market is surprisingly popular in Bangkok and a number of trendy barber shops can be found there.

Here you can also get your caricature drawn in few minutes.

If the guy drawing caricatures won’t be around, check at the nearby Palladium Night Market as he seems to be migrating between these two markets.

Outside Talad Neon

As Talad Neon Night Market is mainly targeting tourists, the prices of street food there tends to be higher than on the streets of Bangkok. If you want to eat real Thai street food cheaper, get out to the side street separating Talad Neon and The Palladium shopping mall – the vendors set their stalls just outside the night market.

Here you will get grilled fish and shrimps for a significantly lower price than at Talad Neon Night Market.

The setup won’t be that fancy but that’s how the real street food in Bangkok looks like.

But only at the real street food stalls you can find a roasted or fresh coconut for 30 baht…
