Night Markets in Bangkok - Best Bangkok Night Market

There are many shopping options for your choice in Bangkok. For local shopping experience you should head to one of Bangkok night markets. Our favourite night markets in Bangkok are listed here.

Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin (Train Market Srinakarin)

Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin also known as Train Market is located at Srinakarin Soi 51, just behind Secon Square shopping mall in Bangkok. The biggest part of this market is open only on weekends.

Rot Fai Market Srinakarin

Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin is mostly about retro and vintage. You can find vintage furniture, retro clothing and accessories, toys, classic cars and much more. Not all of the market is about vintage as you can find clothing, bags, electronics and other modern stuff here. There are also plenty of street food stalls at the market. Even if you’re not into vintage goods, the atmosphere of Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin makes it a place to visit in Bangkok.

Talad Rot Fai Ratchada (Train Night Market Ratchada)

Following the big success of the first Train Market (Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin), the new Train Market was opened in Bangkok's Ratchada area which is more accessible. Talad Rot Fai Ratchada (Train Night Market Ratchada) can be found behind Esplanade Complex, next to MRT Metro Thai Cultural Center station.

Train Night Market Ratchada

Train Night Market Ratchada is smaller than the original, but this new night market boasts a similar retro and vintage atmosphere. The market offers antiques, second-hand toys and various retro accessories, as well as more general market type clothes, bags, shoes and electronics. Plenty of street food stalls and a row of bars can be found at Talad Rot Fai Ratchada. This Bangkok night market in 2019 quite significantly expanded due to the rising numbers of visitors.

Artbox Bangkok

Artbox Bangkok is a weekend night market in Bangkok, that was before open only on the first weekend of selected months. However, since 2019 this night market can be found in permanent location as in 2019 Artbox Bangkok started residing at Chuvit Park on Sukhumvit Road and is open daily. The most of the stalls in this market are housed in metal shipping containers making relocating easy but at least at the beginning of 2020 Artbox Bangkok should stay in their current location that is really easy to visit.

Artbox Bangkok

Artbox Bangkok is an unusual night market as it features stalls of local fashion brands, artworks and unique souvenirs (you won’t find all the usual tourist souvenirs here though), as well as food vendors and food trucks offering a wide variety of food. There is also a space for artists and live music from the local bands.

Talad Neon Night Market

Talad Neon Night Market is one of the newest additions to Bangkok’s night market scene. Opened in Pratunam district, which is a very popular location to stay for Bangkok visitors, Talad Neon Night Market is mostly focused on tourists and less on the local crowd.

Talad Neon Night Market has all the main attributes you would expect to find at night market in Thailand – plenty of street food, clothes and other goods on sale, as well as a number of places to grab a drink and chill out. However, Talad Neon really lacks authenticity and local feel that can be found elsewhere. However, Talad Neon Night Market might be a good alternative for getting an idea about Bangkok’s night markets on a weekday as most of the best night markets in Bangkok are open only on weekend nights.

Chatuchak Friday Night Market

Chatuchak Weekend Market is renowned as being one of the largest and most comprehensive weekend markets in the world. The market partially opens on Friday night when Chatuchak Friday Night Market takes place. At night, mainly wholesale clothing and fashion products are sold, so if you are into late night shopping for clothes, shoes, bags and accessories, you will definitely like Chatuchak at night.

Patpong Night Market

Patpong Night Market is one of the most famous night markets in Bangkok. The night market is located inside the oldest red light district in Bangkok – Patpong Red Light District. Patpong Night Market is surrounded by go-go bars and beer bars making the shopping experience here really exclusive.

Pratunam Night Market

Pratunam Night Market is one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok. Located in Thai capital’s famous shopping district Pratunam, the night market is one of the best places for souvenir and clothing shopping in Bangkok.

Pratunam Night Market – Shopping in Bangkok at Night

Even if the best place for souvenir and gift shopping in Bangkok is Chatuchak Weekend Market, on weekdays Pratunam Night Market is the place to go. Prices here are normally lower than you could find at Bangkok night markets or other shopping venues such as MBK Center, Platinum Fashion Mall.

Asiatique The Riverfront

Asiatique the Riverfront is an unusual night market in Bangkok which is very popular between tourists. Occupying a large complex of old warehouses on the bank of Chao Phraya River, Asiatique the Riverfront feels more like an open-air shopping mall than the real night market.

Palladium Night Market

Palladium Night Market is a small night market in Bangkok’s Pratunam district. Every night the night market takes place in front of The Palladium Shopping Mall which is located just across the street from Pratunam Market.

Palladium Night Market

The proximity to Pratunam Market helps to keep prices at Palladium Night Market low and the biggest advantage of this night market is its compactness. If you’re not willing to spend few hours strolling in the labyrinth of Pratunam Market and just looking for a reasonably priced t-shirt, souvenir or electronics, Palladium Night Market is definitely the place to go in Pratunam area.

Sai Tai Mai Center Night Market

Sai Tai Mai Center Night Market is another night market in Bangkok that we would like to recommend for you if you’re looking for a new place to enjoy your nightlife while shopping, eating local delicacies or hanging out with friends at the bar.

Sai Tai Mai Center Night Market – Shopping in Bangkok

Located next to SC Plaza shopping center which at the same time is Sai Tai Mai Bus Station also known as the new Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal, the night market is quite easily accessible from the central part of the city.

Best Bangkok Night Market

So which one of these Bangkok night markets is the Best Bangkok Night Market? Our favorite is by no means Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin. If you're visiting Bangkok for a few days and your stay here includes the weekend, don't be put off by the distance as this market has a really special atmosphere.

However, on a workday or during short stay in Bangkok Talad Rot Fai Ratchada Night Market is a good alternative to the original as it's open every night and is easily accessed by public transportation. Ratchada Train Market is still the second best Bangkok night market 2020 even if it gets quite crowded and attracts many tourists. If you prefer more local shopping experience, on a weekday head to Sai Tai Mai Center Night Market.

JJ Green Market

JJ Green was a popular vintage night market in Bangkok located in a green park right next to the popular Chatuchak Weekend Market. Here you could find lots of good street food, mini-cafes, live music and endless rows of stalls offering various goods. Interesting buys here included vintage cameras, game consoles, toys, candies, home decor items, collector and various funky hand-made accessories.

Sadly, Chatuchak Green night market was closed permanently in September 2018. Some of JJ Green Market vendors in 2019 moved to the 4th floor of DD Mall which is located by Kamphaeng Phet MRT station nearby Chatuchak Weekend Market. If you're looking for vintage goods that could be found at Chatuchak Green night market before, check what's still on offer at DD Mall.

Year 2020 should bring new winds to the scene of Bangkok night markets as there are plans to reopen JJ Green Market in a new location in Nonthaburi.
