Loy Krathong is a nationwide festival and it will be celebrated throughout Thailand on the full moon of the 12th month of the traditional lunar calendar. In Bangkok, almost every place near the river or pond will be full of lights from thousands of candles twinkling on the water. This year, there are many places where you can celebrate this festival on 22 November, 2018.
1. River Festival 2018
River Festival 2018 is an event related to celebration of the annual Loy Krathong Festival. This year River Festival comes with the theme Blissful Cultural Nights and it will be held at 9 Piers of Contemporary Culture in Bangkok during November 21 - 24, 2018, from 5.00 PM to 10.30 PM.

2. Public Parks
30 public parks with ponds all around Bangkok will be open for public to celebrate Loy Krathong Festival. Some of the popular parks include Lumpini Park, Benjakiti Park, Benchasiri Park, Santichaiprakarn Park, Wachirabenchathat Park, Saranrom Park, Santiphap Park.

How to get there: Take BTS SkyTrain to Asok station and walk out through the Exit 4 and walk on Ratchadaphisek Road for about 300 meters.
Santi Chaiprakan Park
Location: Phra Arthit Road, Khet Phra Nakhon, Bangkok
How to get there: The best way is to take either Orange Flag boat or No Flag boat and get off at Phra Arthit Pier (N13) or take Public Bus No. 2, 3 or 33.

3. ASIATIQUE The Riverfront
If you want to experience a Loy Krathong night with bustles and food stalls, live music and show, Asiatique the Riverfront is a good choice. However, expect a big crowd here.

How to get there: The easiest and fastest way is taking the BTS SkyTrain to Saphan Taksin Station (Exit 2) and then jumping on the free shuttle (ASIATIQUE The Riverfront’s shuttle boat) at the end of the pier. It only takes ten minutes, and the boat runs from 4.00 to 11.30 pm.

4. Rama VIII Bridge, Chao Phraya River
The Loy Krathong Festival will also be celebrated at the foot of the Rama VIII Bridge in Thon Buri.
There will be an exhibition, the show of light and sound related to Loy Krathong Festival, cultural show and local folk performances at the event. If you will choose going to celebrate Loy Krathong here, you will see the panorama of the Chao Phraya River with the majestic backdrop of Temple of Emerald Buddha, The Grand Palace, Temple of Dawn, and the iconic Rama VIII Bridge.
How to get there: Take BTS SkyTrain to Saphan Taksin Station (S6), leave via exit No. 2 and then take Chao Phraya Express Boat (Orange Line) from Sathorn Pier to Phra Arthit Pier which is not from Rama VIII Bridge. Otherwise you can take Public Bus No. 49, 3, 9, 30, 32, 53, 65, 516.
5. Chulalongkorn University - CU Full Moon 2018
Chulalongkorn University will organize the Loy Krathong Festival "CU Full Moon 2018" on Thursday, November 22, 2018 from 5 pm to 10 pm at Chulalongkorn Pond. The celebration is intended to preserve and impart fine traditions, Thai arts and culture. It also promotes the importance of water and conscience in the conservation of natural resources. There will be many cultural shows and activities from CU student such as parade and Krathong Contests. The festival celebration at Chulalongkorn University will also feature a night market.
