The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and ICONSIAM are jointly organizing “Amazing Thailand Countdown 2019” New Year celebration in Bangkok. This year the New Year celebration comes with the theme “The River of Prosperity”.

Fireworks Show
The highlight of “Amazing Thailand Countdown 2019” New Year celebration will be the fireworks made from Thai sticky rice that will be set off along the Chao Phraya River. This fireworks display is based on the concept of “The River of Prosperity.” It represents the history of the Chao Phraya River, reflects the way of life, traditions, and legends of Siam.
The fireworks display will be 5 minutes long and will include 5 Acts consisting of Act 1 - The River of Prosperity, Act 2 - The Siam Treasure, Act 3 - The Blossom of Joy, Act 4 - One World, and Act 5 - Thailand. The fireworks will be seen from a distance of more than 1,400 meters and it will be the longest fireworks show along the Chao Phraya River.
Other Performances
There will also be a “Khon” performance at the event in the honor of it being recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage. The "Khon" performance will be a gift to Thai people.
In addition, there will be live performances by top Thai and international artists.
New Year on TV
The Countdown celebration will be live on TV (MCOT, PPTV, True4U, TNN and Thai PBS channel), from 23:05 on 31 December 2018 to 00:20 on 1 January 2019.
