Taking one of airport buses from central Bangkok to Don Mueang Airport (DMK) is one of the cheapest ways to get there. It is recommended to board the public bus A1 and A2 at the bus stop near BTS SkyTrain Mo Chit Station or MRT Metro Chatuchak Park Station.
Going from BTS Mo Chit station to Don Mueang Airport
Once you drop off from the train at BTS SkyTrain Mo Chit station, you will be facing Chatuchak Park and a row of bus stops will be in front of you.
When walking down the stairs, you will see a signboard showing the direction to airport bus. Just follow the sign and walk to Exit 3.
At the end of Exit 3 you can go down by the escalator which can be found on the right side. However, the escalator will be moving UPWARDS between 6 am to 3 pm. If you will be arriving during that time, you will have to use turn staircase which is on the left side.
In reality, if you have a big luggage, you can take Exit 1 as it has the lift to get down to the road level (see the picture bellow).
Once down to the street level, you will see a bus stop with a sign displaying "BUS STOP A1, A2". It's a busy bus stop and you will see a lot of buses passing by, just wait for the bus A1 or A2 to arrive.
Going from MRT Chatuchak Park station to Don Mueang Airport
From MRT Metro Chatuchak Park station take Exit 2 to the street, turn right and you will see the stairs leading to BTS SkyTrain station in front of you.
Just walk pass the stairs, there will be a bus stop with a sign displaying "BUS STOP A1, A2".
The airport bus is orange or blue with a clearly displayed bus number on it. The ticket costs 30 baht and should be bought on board. Most of the people on the bus are going to the airport so there will be only a few stops before finally reaching the main entrance of Terminal 1 at Don Mueang Airport. Most of the bus route is on the expressway so the bus ride to the airport usually takes less than an hour. It can take about 30-40 minutes but no guarantees as it depends on the time of the day and traffic conditions.
