Thailand National Children's Day is celebrated every year on the second Saturday of January. This year the National Children’s Day is on January 12, 2019. In Thailand known as “Wan Dek”, Children’s Day is celebrated with the aim to give children the opportunity to have fun and create awareness about their significant role in the development of the country.
Many organizations in both governmental and private sectors have activities or offer free admission for children (and families). Below we have listed best National Children’s Day celebration spots in Bangkok.
The Government will organize an event for 2019 National Children’s Day at the Government House on January 12, 2019 under there theme “Thai children with volunteering mind for environmental development”. There will be a robot and dinosaur mascot shows, various recreational and knowledge-enhanced activities, such as exhibitions on energy savings, biodiversity, and “The Two Developer Kings”, as well as performances by actors and actresses, distribution of gifts, prizes, food, snacks, and drinks. The highlight here is an opportunity given to children to sit in Prime Minister’s seat at the office in Thai Khu Fah Building.
Siriraj Hospital is inviting all families to take their children to visit an event "Children's Day @ Siriraj 2562" on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
The event will be dividing activities into 2 zones:
1. Teddy Bear Hospital is organized by the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, at the hall on the 1st floor of Somdet Phra Srinakarin Building from 09:00 to 13:00. There will be many activities such as a magic show, dog show, activities of My Super Hero Can Do, Lovely balloon, English & Science for fun and making decoration of yogurt ice cream.
2. "Ha-Lo-Poon-Poon, Bangkok Noi" organized by Siriraj Museum at Siriraj Phimuksarn Museum (Railway area) from 09:00 – 15:00. There will be many activities such as learning the story of the Southern Railway route by simulating railway stations in each province, such as Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi.
Mahanakhon Sky Walk
Mahanakhon Sky Walk, Thailand's newest landmark and tourist attraction, invites children and youth under the age of 15 to visit the scenic spots on Thailand's tallest buildings for free throughout the day! Here the children can enjoy the balloon art and magic painting activities on Saturday, January 12, 2019 (adult ticket price on January 12, 2019 is 765 baht, children up to 15 years old are free of charge).
ICONSIAM invites children to celebrate the 60th year of Smurfs and friends that fly far across the world from Belgium to meet Thai people. The event is organized daily 9 - 13 January 2019.
Tha Maharaj Pier is holding an event for children to release the imagination and creativity on the National Children's Day during 12 - 13 January 2019.
The children can be ready to enjoy a variety of entertainment such as Mini Petty Zoo, Face Painting and Paper Mache Workshop. There will be many fun characters from cartoon and activity booths, food booths with a wide selection. Have fun with the whole family.

Thai Red Cross Society
Thai Red Cross Society will be holding an event of Children’s Day 2019 at the Thai Red Cross Museum. At the event, there will be several activities, such as visiting the Thai Red Cross Museum, visiting the TRCS Snake Farm, fun games at the booths and entertainment activities on the stage. Parents who come with children can visit for free as well. There will also be a free food and drink service provided throughout the event.
K Village invites everyone to join Junior Farmers' Day Out on National Children’s Day.
There will be a simulation of the atmosphere at a small farm for children where children will be given an opportunity to be closer to a little pony horse and have fun playing games in the farm, such as the game of throwing vegetables in the garden, hunting eggs and Lucky Draw games. There will also be a number of creative workshops that can be joined for free such as Planting trees in tiny pots and making Thai desserts called Look Chup.

Royal Thai Air Force
The Royal Thai Air Force on National Children’s Day usually invites children to go and explore aircrafts. The highlight and the most interesting part of the airshow is the flight display. Throughout the day, there will be flight displays of various aircrafts, including F-5, F-16, EC-725, PC-9, CT-4E and Gripen.
Royal Thai Navy
The Royal Thai Navy organizes the Children's Day event in 2019 with a lot of knowledge. There will be activities for performing music, playing games, distribution of food, beverages and most importantly, while having fun children will also receive an important opportunity to learn about the Royal Thai Navy.
Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Public Park
The National Children's Day 2562 at the Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Public Park will be celebrated on January 12, 2019 from 09:00 onwards (for children under 15 years). In the event, children will find many fun activities such as Thai Folk Song Contest, games and activity kiosks, offering a chance to win big prizes such as microwaves, television, machines and much more.
The National Children's Day at TK Park, 8th Floor, Dazzle Zone, Central World, will be celebrated on January 12, 2019 from 10:00 – 17:00. Special!!! The entry will be free for children up to 140 cm tall. The event comes with TK Kids Show, TK Dino Dance and "TK Dino, the adventure of the Thai dinosaur world" exhibition where children can enjoy exploring Thai dinosaur species and friends that will come to life again in the form of a game.
Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC)
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) invites children to join the Children's Day with the "Thinking (Multiples): Everybody is Unique" event aiming to provide the art as another way of learning about the diversity of people and society, including culture, language, religion, ethnicity, food, as well as a variety of ideas.
The Sam Sen Nai Philatelic Museum
Thailand Post organizes special day activities for children "STamP for FuN Happy Children's Day" with the theme “Wildlife Conservation Adventure” at the Sam Sen Nai Philatelic Museum that is situated at the back of the Sam Sen Nai Post Office. There will be an exhibition of stamps about wildlife reserves from the first set to the present. Kids will also be able to enjoy a funny fairy tale drama "Baby Shark", solve the puzzle and DIY animal model activities with free delicious snacks, drinks and souvenirs. The event will be held on 12 January 2019, at 08:30 – 16:30.
